The Brazilian Black Tarantulas are a very docile species to keep making them popular for beginners, and hobbyists, they are a close relate to the Chilean Rose Tarantula (Grammostola rosea). So they make a very nice safe display Tarantula. A jet black Tarantula which grows to a impressive bulky size. I  have reared a pair from very small slings, expect to pay high prices for adults, which are not often available. My spiders are always out in the open and I always enjoy feeding time, as the young spiders wait and collect as many crickets as they can carry from my small tweezers, and then run into there flower pots to feed, which is the only time they use the pots provided.
At 6cm they are starting to look more like a silky jet black spider.
This a slow growing long lived Tarantula females have been recorded to live up to 20 years and males also longer than average, two years after maturing
Looking forward to filming my spiders when when they are adults.
