This is recommended as a first spider for a beginner, very hardy to keep, and I always enjoy handling these attractive   spiders, females are long lived up to 14 years I have a Pink Chilean spider that when it feels the loud click of the locking catch of its vivarium always walks towards the front when I open the door, maybe it expecting food, or just protecting its self in its home, even though it never flicks hair or bites, it is sad when I have to replace one of my spiders for my photographic record. but will always keep one of these in my collection.
