Common Blue Butterfly (Polyommatus Icarus)

A very pretty butterfly, especially the males which have blue wings, with white fringes and the females have darker brown wings. The caterpillar’s feed on a variety of food plants, the most common is Bird's foot-trefoil, and have two generations a year.  I often see this species in colonies feeding and mating on chalk hill downs of Farley mount, near Winchester, UK.
