As a child I spent much of my time in this area learning nature now mostly surrounded by urban development, Grass snakes were plentiful found along the streams and nearby ponds, so I was pleased to see a large grass snake swimming in the same stream on one of my visits, before disappearing very fast into a marsh in the reserve which is not open to the public. Flexford Nature Reserve has rich wet meadows, woodland walks supporting a good variety of animals and plants. And diserves its Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC)
