This is one of the largest Skippers to be found in the UK, the butterflies, which are very common in the summer, can bee seen from June till as late as August depending on the weather, and one generation each year. Usually found resting on prominent, sunny positions like bramble bushes, which the butterflies like to feed. Although a fast lively butterfly with darting flight, with slow movements it is possible to take some nice close up pictures of these butterflies. The caterpillar’s feed on a variety of plants primary Cock's-foot (Dactylis glomerata).
