Laybyrinth Spider (Agelena Labyrinthica)

This Labyrinth spider photographed in the New Forest was found on heath land at ground level, they spin a large sheet of web with a main funnel shaped retreat, it also contructs a labyrinth of tunnels further down which gives this spider its name. Remains of its prey can be seen scatterd around its web.
