American Great Poplar Hawk Moth (Pachysphinx Modesta)

I reared some Big Poplar Sphinx from eggs to adult moths, and I was pleasantly surprised just how large and stocky this moth is. It is a relative of our Poplar Hawk, and so some of the moths markings are similar, with a crimson patch, upper side of the hindwings, but it does not rest its hind wings above its forewings, like our Poplar Hawk. 

The larvae feed on Poplar, Aspen and Willow.
