I always know when there is a stinkhorn growing in the area in the New Forest, I smell it long before I see it, and cannot wait to take my pictures and get away, you have to witness the smell your self to believe just how bad it is, when filming I can almost taste it on my tongue and it makes my eyes water, smells like rotting flesh. They usually have flies resting on the fungi; the flies eat the fungi gleba, which in turn, the insect’s feet that distribute the spores. Can edible, not that I can imagine anybody want to eat these.
